The Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission (SMADC), part of the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland, works to preserve farmland, strengthen local agriculture, and connect farmers with the resources they need to succeed. Through outreach, education, marketing, and tourism initiatives, SMADC helps foster a vibrant, sustainable agricultural community. A key component of this mission is marylandfarmlink.com, an online resource and networking platform designed to connect Maryland farmers, landowners, and agricultural businesses.

What They Needed

Originally launched over a decade ago, the Maryland FarmLink website had become outdated—both in design and functionality. The site was difficult for staff to manage, members struggled to access the login area, and the property and equipment exchange features saw limited activity. With an increasing need to connect farmers, promote land access, and provide a central resource for agricultural professionals, SMADC recognized the need for a user-friendly, engaging platform that could serve as an active hub for Maryland’s farming community.

What We Delivered

DatAchieve Digital worked with SMADC to create a modern, mobile-friendly website that helps connect farmers, landowners, and agricultural professionals across the state. The redesigned platform features public and member-only sections, including searchable farm property listings, agricultural job boards, and private forums for peer-to-peer networking. Integrated tools for listing property, equipment, and employment opportunities make the site a vital resource for Maryland’s farming community — helping SMADC further its mission of supporting sustainable agriculture and farmland preservation.

A Farmland and Agricultural Resource "Matchmaking" Site

Maryland Farm Link is a state-funded initiative connecting farmers and agricultural professionals with industry resources including news, property and equipment sales, job opportunities, and events. The website includes a private login area where members access agricultural exchanges and forums, workshops, and mentoring programs.
