What They Needed

The Washington County Health Department’s website was built on a proprietary platform, hosted within a municipal government server environment that offered limited flexibility and outdated design. The site was hard for staff to update and even harder for residents and physicians to find amid the larger county website. As public health information, service access, and community engagement increasingly moved online, WCHD needed a dedicated, user-friendly website that would improve visibility, simplify management, and better communicate its services to the community—especially for time-sensitive updates like health alerts, vaccine clinics, and referrals.

What We Delivered

DatAchieve Digital designed and developed a modern, mobile-responsive website that makes it easy for visitors to find information about WCHD’s wide range of health services. Key features include intuitive navigation, language translation tools, integrated social media publishing, and a secure, easy-to-manage content system.
In addition to the primary health department website, DatAchieve partnered with WCHD to create the Washington County Maryland Pathfinder, a companion site promoting outdoor recreation opportunities—encouraging healthy lifestyles through hiking, biking, boating, and other activities.

Launched shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic, the new WCHD website quickly became a trusted resource for critical health information during a time of crisis, providing timely updates and reinforcing the department’s role as a vital community resource.
